Looking forward to the new season already. Phoenix A are looking to retain the title they sneeked last winter in the closest end of season finales ive been involved in for years.

Not sure who the dig about county players was aimed at at the meeting last night, but both me danny have played a high percentage of games last season, and all but 2 last winter league. Didnt realise it was a problem?? Just for the record, im not playing in the ilson league this year, and will be at every phoenix match, unless im away.

Pleased The Winter League has 27 confirmed team entries, That's 5 more teams than last winter.

Well done Mark for all your hard work, ensuring this league goes from strength to strength.

Good call steve, agreed. Its good to see local leagues increasing in numbers. With the current playing rules i wouldnt be surprizes if a cpl of ilson side will look to join in the near future, as they still play old epa. I know 9 definate teams who want to play at least the cushion rule, but are being held back, so who knows what the future will hold.

Hi Ash, spoke to Pat before the last meeting and the thought of the league was if enough teams wanted make a separate division of world rules (or cusion rules) then it was in their (IDPL) best interest to accommodate them.

We were only talking one to one but 8 teams was the figure mentioned to make a division viable.

If you say there are nine teams, then there is something not right.

Who are the nine teams Ash ??

By the look of it i think 8 is actually right, if u have included the white cow in your figure of 8. Not sure about the bridge as they want the cushion rule, but are losing 3 players anyway so not sure where they would stand. Personally, i have decided to play solely in eastwood this winter, as its not my intention to pull teams out of the idpl. End of the day, we tried to move the league forward, but it will never devolop in my eyes. Just my opinion. I live in awsworth, and if i play for the phoenix, i can have a beer and enjoy the night, whilst in ilson, im forever driving.  If IDPL do set the league division up, I fear alot of teams could have nothing to play for, with the lack of promotion/relegation etc. Anyway, im sure it will discussed at the next meeting.

Hi everyone. All of us from the Oak looking forward to the new season and hoping to challenge for the title again. Looking at the fixtures could be a very interesting Div1 again! Nice to see Palmeston into the top league at last, had some great games with them in the past.
Unfortunetly we've a free week tomorrow so no game.
So who's favourites this season? I hear that Phoenix B aka Potters are feeling confident!!!

Ironic that you should have used that smiley, since they got smoked by their A-team last night.

One down with two to play their player wins the toss and tells Kerry Griffiths to break.

Error.

Hi Tom,
Phoenix B have a strong side as we played them last night. It was a tight match throughout but phoenix a sneeked it 4-3. We have a strong side this year, and even without Mark Doyle, Sarah Taylor, and Russ Paige last night we managed a good win. Think Phoenix B will be up there though come end of the season. I expect us, Phoenix B, Oak, all to be up there, but the crown and palmo are also dangorous. Should be another cracking season

Sounded a good game well done!
I always give the break away as well! lol! I suppose it depends on what table your playing on. My breaks always seem to spread really well but always leaves my opponent a great chance to win the frame

Phoenix A 5-2 White Lion S/G.  The phoenix winning run continues. Strange feeling this. We normally lose or first 5 then make a comeback! lol

We won our first game of the season. Palmeston 3-4 Royal Oak. Was a great game really, we went 3-1 down but I started the comeback to win 5th frame then 2 great clearences to take the last 2 legs!
Think there will be loads of 4-3's this season.
Good result for you Ash keep up the 100%!

Great win that, didnt think there would be many 6-1's this season! Looks like you lot are the team to beat...
We beat Wagon 4-3 went to deciding frame again. They were a very good side, apparently they'd won both of their previous matches. Its cup next week we've got Spot On, dont know anything about them?

Wagon are from Brinsley. They're a combination of players from Durham Ox and White Lion(both Brinsley) who have both had steady teams in the past.

Phoenix 'B' got revenge on us in the cup tonight with a 4-2 verdict.

Probably Ash's leg aside, we were absolutely shocking and got exactly what we deserved.

Fair play to the 'B'-team though, and good luck in the next round, I hope you win it!
