Why, when someone asks why a thread or a post has been deleted, does someone delete it?

I am convinced that would never happen Gaz.

As an open, honest and democratic forum I feel that if I was to inform fellow members of the following then it would be left on for people to read at their leisure.


Yesterday I was rebuked on this forum by Eastsmooth (who is apparently the administrator but doesn't put his/her true name to his/her posts) after I basically asked for a ridiculous thread to be deleted. The reply was along the lines of,

"It was not deleted because we don't want to delete it. What give's you the right to ask for a thread to be deleted? Mr high all migty"

To which I replied,

"I'm not sure who wrote the reply above as they don't appear to show their identity. (another Mighty scenario?)

1. It's 'gives' not 'give's'.
2. It's 'and' not 'all'.
3. It's 'mighty' not 'migty'.
4. Don't be ridiculous, obviously everyone has the right to ask if something can be deleted!

Just who the heck is administering this Forum?"

i don't think we lower level chappies can delete other peoples posts, only people with special powers have the ability - such as The Magician, or admin etc
