The report states that the other 129 sites are staying open, 2 that are closing are Long Eaton(derbyshire) and Blackburn - didnt know there were any pool or snooker players from that area

You're right there Al there are no decent players from Blackburn area.

Long Eaton is the closest Rileys to us that is closing,all the rest are alot further a field.

Just to confirm, Rileys Nottingham is not closing.  A lot has taken place in the last 2 days but we are not affected by it.

Tim, as I was afraid that Colin would be getting pi55ed off with so many people asking him the all important question, I didn't actually like to mention it to him. Well done boys, Colin is right up s**t creek with his bosses for leaking all the secrets to you guys, all you lot flipping do is gossip

Apologies for the late reply Trev, been on hols.  To cut a long storey short and to put it bluntly, what Rileys have done is dump 30 underperforming/ problem clubs.  They did this by putting the whole company into administration then a company owned by very similar people to the previous Rileys owners bought back the other 129 clubs.

The Long Eaton closure was a bit harsh as the club was profitable but problems with the landlord meant that it had to go.

Don't really want to dwell on the other closures but what I will say is that the company is much stronger without the majority of the closed clubs.

And dispite this dumping of underperforming clubs, the remaining clubs still can't raise teams for away matches in the leagues they have entered. Just because rileys are in trouble, no need to disrespect the other pool and snooker clubs.

Now now Stephen.... I can't babysit and breast feed all of the teams that play out my club, as I do have some kind of life out of work.  

I take it you must be referring to the Monday Supreme team which, as Steve Hill is already aware, I'm not happy with and am trying to change the current captain and batch of players.

I would much prefer it Stephen that if you have a problem that you would either speak to me directly or to the league about any issues rather than publishing slanderous comments on a forum.

Just bear in my mind that Rileys Nottingham is a heavyweight in cue sports.  I have stayed away from competing with you on a number of occasions because I like the Phoenix club and enjoy playing pool at your venue.  I think it's good that Notts has a few good English pool venues, as it is good for the game and good for the county.

However if you want to create tensions between us then I will be up for a good competitive business fight.  Trust me, others have tried and fallen by the wayside.
