mark told graham rawson i had to play with dale  so i had to wait an xtra week to sort out when dale was free
only to be told while we was there that i couldnt play with him

i know i cant play with some one who not in the team thats why after the 3rd game i changed it

if i hadednt i wouldnt of said nicks name  it would be easy for him to come on here and say i didnt

Okay chaps, just spent an hour reading this thread whilst working...
Pete E-mailed me and we spoke on facebook, a couple of months ago regarding this issue.
Pete seems a genuine bloke and has offered to join the committee as secretary in the past, also has offered to ring venues and promote NOPPL, so I have respect for him as a freind of the league.
Having spoken to Mark and Pete, it is evident that here is a deeper lying issue between them, that I am not going to get into on an open forum.
There are some things being said that the other denies or contradicts, and it has become so prolonged an arguement that the issue has become unclear, certainly to me.
There has been mention of the Beacon being treated unfairly.
Can one of you from the beacon outline the issues clearly in an email to me or Dave, we will bring this up with the rest of the committee, unless Dave or me can't sort it ourselves.
The issue regarding the rules for comps and substituting players will be clarified, before next season.

Just one more thing, this is an amateur pool league, we all work and do this committee thing for the love of the game.
We spend our own money on phone calls and printer stuff, petrol etc.
We are not samaritans, charity workers or arbitration specialists and last season didn't receive any monies in recompense. So just remember that when you make sweeping statements about the committee.

So, if you want an issue sorting, make a statement concerning the facts, clearly, to a member of the committee.
One line saying can we get rid of xxxx because he is a w****** will not do.
Most of the time a phone call should do it, but be polite, it works better that way.
Nobody wants a fall out, the majority of people in pool get along fine, lets try and keep it that way.
We are trying to change the way things have always been done, if they are not the best way of doing it. But as usual this takes time.

I've just read all this for the first time also, or at least skipped through some of the major gripes.

As Gaz said, in the good old days we had a letter to the committee and the issues were dealt with directly.

Now we have this wonderful forum where people can sit in comfort at their PC and slag off anyone they want to like a 7 stone d**khead displaying road rage in the safety of his range rover.


All the gripes from players wanting their table ready for them so they could pop in, play and go are particularly laughable. Most players enjoy finals day for what it is and have the banter with a few beers. Good to see the majority on Sunday doing just that and having a good day out.

In fact, it was great to see some players filling in their waiting time by volunteering to help with refereeing. You can tell the ones who are used to being spoon fed from the ones who like to support the league. Thank you to those players.

Also. Great job from Mark spending all day refereeing, organising matches and running round like a blue arsed fly to make the day a success. He may have upset one or two "forum whingers" throughout the season but let's not forget, this role always brings with it the controversy of people claiming games, disputes of who should ring who?, questions of why this was arranged for a day when 'I wanted to go on holiday', etc. etc.

Despite all this, Mark gave up his entire day and I for one recognise that a bit of appreciation here wouldn't go amiss.

Well done Mark, not just for finals day but for the whole season, a lot of work goes into running comps in any league large or small

I thought i would pop on, remind myself who won what & see what compliments people have posted about the running of the competitions & the standard of the pool from the players !!! How stupid was i to think that this may happen on the forum ?
Can you moaning f**kers just stick to moaning on one thread only, so people can actually read something on the forum without feeling like they want to hang themselves ffs
