As expected Major Oak beat Railway 8-4 (unless you are Trev, who expected Railway to win 8-4)

It felt good to put one over on Trev, especially as he "missed" their player fouling.

Legs went as follows:

Matt Coates - Steve Hobster 1-0
Paul Walker - Jon Ledgard 1-1
Coates/Walker - Hobster Ledgard 2-1
Trev Kirby - Martin Lovett 3-1
Michelle Newton - Andy Leese 3-2
Kirby/Marsbar - Lovett/Leese 4-2
Claire Moore - Adam Anderson 5-2
Richard Fewkes - Olly Brook 6-2
Claire/Shrek - Olly/Trev Anderson 6-3
Justin Marsden - Trev Anderson 7-3
Dale Nix - Craig Blackshaw 8-3
Jordan Cumberpatch - Trev Chambers 8-4

Yes was a good night Ady, as you said both teams had there share of luck, Man of the match for us was Nidge Orton for 2 very good clearances, i think Riggers shaded yours, most legs could have gone either way in a very tight game. 1st half we won 4-2 but you fought back very well and i thought you were favourites going into the last leg after Crespo's miracle shot lol

Great result, can't wait to see the unbiased and fair report in Ballsmania now

Taking every game for granted (apparently).

Victory tavelled the short distance to Ex Service and suffered a shock opening day defeat. We lost 8-4. Ex Service deserved the win to be fair.

I have received a number of private messages regarding the above post asking if it's entirely correct. I can now say for definite it is, Trev Kirby did indeed win 2 out of 2  smile/hapface01.gif

I stand corrected on the secretary point!

When Trevor didn't call obvious fouls(that were seen by none playing supporters as well) at the cup final and every one was against us and cheered when Cherry Tree won Legs, we wasn't asked to put a letter in about it,it was disregarded and called sour grapes! which was comical because we won the cup and was stating facts, everyone in the league knows he cheats, its commonplace, but nothing is ever done its just swept under the carpet because its the mighty Trevor Chambers,i even sent an email to Tony Wyatt thinking something would be done..lol,should have known better!

First ive heard about this cheating lark, i will ask Tony what he has heard and i certainly didnt hear any thing on cup final night, all i knew was Trev stood in amongst the Eagle lads on a couple of games near the end to minimise coaching lol
I was looking after the plate final on the other table and honestly never heard one moan about trevs reffing

Big Ady & Coatsey
(Yes Ady I have stopped sucking him off!)

In defence of Trev, he has we all, has made mistakes (Trev more then most granted) I have had disagreements with him myself, but I assure you he is not a cheat, but he the first to volunteer to ref (he needs the practice)

Now if you mentioned the Eagle of old 3-4 years ago, now what a reputation they had, not the most popular of teams and if their own refs wouldn't call a foul on themselves for fear of their team mates giving them hassle, that is not hear say that is fact, I have witnessed that myself (on several occasions) but I stress that is of old (apart from the constant coaching and barracking which is a form of cheating) I have always got on with the Eagle lads and enjoyed good banter both ways! and in recent seasons one of the most supporting teams about, during and after the match
I do however refuse to say pleasure as I keep losing(Fairly)

Young Mathew Coates, now then how often does he throw his toys out of the pram? I have the pleasure of knowing Mat and also playing with him, great player he is! Dictionary corner he is!
Good sport he is NOT! ask anyone who plays pool in Nott's!!!!!!

I can not comment about the cup final as I wasn't there, but it was at the cherry and who would people tend to cheer for

I would like to think that I have a reputation as being very honest and as a past qualified referee who used to referee up and down the country I do have experience
So for the record he may be an idiot but he is not a cheat!
Not a very nice accusation, this is a grudge you have had with him for years and should put it behind you

If it wasnt for the people who run the league; Wyatt, Al Gregory and my nomination as referee of the year Chambers himself
We wouldn't have a league to play in where we can have banter, It is hard work and you get no thanks only hassle
can I suggest that people who have disagreements about things being brushed under the carpet etc, actually join the commitee and take some of the pressure of the existing commitee members

Coatsey if you have any comment on my spelling or grammer please rearrange this well know Blackshaw catchphrase
"stikc it up your ares"

I agree we are all allowed an opinion, but there are ways to put them forward
