Although not finalised yet, there are some exciting changes afoot in the county national championships.

Only one decision is a definite so far and that is that there WILL be at least two sides from each region going down to Gt Yarmouth in March 2010 at all levels.

The format in Yarmouth is not yet decided but options being considered by the EPA are to have 16 teams in the pot for the competition. There is also a winners comp and a runners up (sort of plate) comp being discussed. With 7 regions, we're not sure if the other 2 places will be taken by the 2009 champions and runners up, which would perhaps open the door for a 3rd place region team qualifying.

Also being discussed is a possible re-format of the regions to extend to 8, which may mean a split in region 3. This obviously will only come into place in 2010 and affect the finals in 2011 if it comes off. So this should have no bearing on the 2010 finals.

A lot of the above is on the drawing board still, but it's great to see the EPA looking at County and considering a number of very welcome ideas.

Some people work to make a difference. Some people would rather just whine (plus they usually are the ones with a small penis). Think before you post - Which one are you?

I would imagine that a change in the look of Region 3 could only happen at an AGM, which isnt til next year, so you're looking at 2011 so the 2010 fixtures should pretty much mirror this years.

Hi Guys,  Just to put the record straight, this is what is happening.

The EPA have set up a committee to look at the possibilities of changing the Regions. This committee will report back to the EPA who will then take their recommendations to the AGM in 2010, if passed at the AGM, they will come into force for 2011.

But at the moment it is all just recommendations for us to look at.

If you need to know, ask The Guvnor
