Having spoken to Geoff Wilson on Sunday we are looking to run a Nottinghamshire Tour next year and are after players feedback.  The ideas we have so far are as follows:

To start in Spring 2009.

4 events, ideally at different venues (venues must have at least 8 English tables).

£55 total entry.

48 players.

All matches full World rules, best of 9 or 11 frames (depending on numbers).

£600 prize fund at each event (paid to the top 16 including £200 to the winner, and winner/runner-up in the plate).

Initially places will be offered to Notts players and we hope it will fill just with those however should the total allocation not be taken we will open the event up to others from Region 3.  Please note this tour is for EPA cardholders only.

A great chance for all Notts cardholders to play in there own tour with limited travelling needed and a chance to play at a good standard to take into county/inter-league matches and also win some cash!

Anyone wth sggestions lets hear them in this forum.

Grrrrreat plan. Count me in. I bet we can put the whole Pepperami family in too. Cliterarse will no doubt join in, Elmer Fudd, Jammy Donuts, Chewitt & other non fictional characters. Although I believe Ahmed the Terrorist will have been deported by then!

It's a wash kid....you're in Atlantic City now, not back in the Stock Room playing with baby dolls.

Anyone know if Sneinton and Hucknall are planning to add more tables?

Ive also heard Nottingham Riley's are adding more, but not for a while yet.

Are the Potters tables of a decent standard?

Not sure about Chesterfield.  Its in Derbyshire, though they play Notts interleague matches there and it is a good venue.

I have been asking for a while now and the answer has been no.

I think it is a really good idea but the venues must be in Notts in my opinion!!!

Can i ask why it must be a minimum of 8 tables?

i think spot on has the potential to be a cracking venue, but personally i dont like the place, i think the management should do more, ie. bring in more tables, make sure the tables are the same make and that they are level, as a oouple of them roll off.

i still think as a venue rileys is the best and the management does more for the players, like half price snooker when the competitions are played there, and free 9-ball tables. spot on do none of this.

tables wise, phoenix are the best as every table is the same make, same standard, absolutely level and if it did roll off, the manager would sort it out straight away.

What the f@@k has that got to do with my question?

As i've said before to you it really does not matter what time the comps finish as your never in them long enough!! you will have been tucked up in bed dreaming about Carol Vorderman way before.

Also just to make you aware it happend once and it was actually 2pm, all other comps have been finished by 9pm at the very latest but once again that would bother you will it sleepy head!!

you asked why they need 8 tables, i was mearly suggesting that with at least 8 tables the competitions will finish earlier than a venue with just 4-6 tables, also when i said 3am i was actually talking about the bobby singh competition at rileys.
i wasnt having a go at you jimmy, i wish more people like you would organise competitions for people who don't live near the pheonix or corn exchange.

For a 48-player tournament we need 8 tables.

The question is do venues in Notts want an event like this?  At the moment only Phoenix do.

It is not a question of wanting!! Spot On want it alright but there Snooker & 9 ball make them the money and 8 ball does isn't! It's a tough time at the moment and it must be justified in these current financial times!!!

It is also quite a new club and is up against established clubs like Riley's & Top Spot which does not make it any easier.
