Just to let everyone know that the annual Bobby Singh memorial tournament is being held at Riley's (St James St, Nottingham) on 29th November.

Entry fee is £25, and people should get in touch with Dale Mayes for more information.

This year, the tournament should not be so late, as Riley's 6 new tables will be installed on November 3rd.

Good luck to all participants

Cheers Matt.  Entry is limited to 64 players and to only Notts pool league players only.  More details to follow.  Entry fees can be paid to Dale or one of the management team at Rileys.

Official Bobby Singh Info!

The 2nd Annual Bobby Singh singles event shall be played on Saturday 29th November @ Rileys Nottingham.

Based on 64 entries (min & max), there will be a total prize fund of £1600.  Entrance fee is £25 per player.

Mr Olly Brooks has very kindly offered to sponsor this event and has purchased a solid silver Trophy in memory of his good friend and team mate Bobby Singh.  As this is a memorial tournament we do hope that you will show your support by entering.

Tournament Rules

Olly has stipulated that there are the following rules for the event:

1) This tournament is open to players from Notts Open, Notts & District and Arnold pool leagues only

2) No international players (juniors or full internationals)

3) All rounds will be best of 7 until the semi-finals and final.  It will be best of 9 in the semis and best of 11 in the final

4) The tournament will start at 10.30am sharp.  All players must have registered by 10.15am at the latest

5) All entry forms are to be submitted with entrance fee no later than Saturday 22nd November 2008

6) No dress code

7) Limited to 64 players

8) Matches to be played to World Rules

9) A handicap system will be in place.  Anyone who has played at international level or on the pro tour in the past 5 years will start all games on minus 1.

Due to Rileys now having 6 brand new Supreme tables the competition is expected to finish much earlier than last year.  The main event will take place on the new tables only with flyers/ 15-1 being played on the old tables.

Assuming we reach 64 entries, the prize breakdown will be as follows:

1st: £800
2nd: £400
Losing semis: £100 each (£200)
Losing quarters: £50 each (£200)

Total payout: £1600
Based on 64 players total entry monies: £1600

On the day, I will be providing a meal for all competitors free of charge and I will also be donating good trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th places.

Entry money can be paid direct to Dale Mayes or Steve Hobster.  Alternatively it can be paid to Scott or Alex or myself @ Rileys.

Cheers,
Col

Colin,

As much as I don't want to miss this I have no choice.

Can you please remove me from the comp, as I will be away having breakfast with Snow White and Cinderella,             Room service I hope LOL ...

And dinner with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.

I will chuck a few quid in the pot though.

Lee Thorpe

Hi All,

Col, Dale etc.., put me down for another handicapped session!

Cheers,

Jarvey.

p.s. Must lend some weight to the Donut and Roids argument as playing England Under 21s is massively different to playing full England or Professional.  Therefore I reckon -1 for them although it'll be easier for everyone else if they're not in.

It's a wash kid....you're in Atlantic City now, not back in the Stock Room playing with baby dolls.

Guys,

It's upto Olly if they are allowed in as it's his comp, Rileys are just the hosts.  We will be announcing our own competitions next week that will be open to all players as well as a singles league

Just a suggestion Col any chance you could put the singles league on a Sunday night? I know that there is interleague and county on Sundays but why do we always have to cater for the superstars? I know of 8 already who would go in this. Infact you could advertise for 2 single leagues 1 weekend, 1 mid week?

Thanks for the feedback.  I was thinking about a mid week league but I could definitely do one on a Sunday as well and make it superstar free!

I will try and get some more feedback off here in the next week or so and also on other competitions and will let you know when we have dates and events sorted out
