Hi All,
Raised this one the other night and generated a bit of head scratching.
I'll describe as best I can.
There are 2 reds, a yellow and a black (and the cue ball!) on the table. Red has just fouled.
The 3 colours are all in a line close together, with the yellow in the middle.
In all circumstances, yellow is foul snookered.
Now consider the situation if red has fouled, and the white is touching the yellow.
The refs guidance says "When the two balls are touching the two points of finest contact are the same point. Hence a player cannot be snookered on a touching ball." i.e. it is suggesting that a foul snooker is impossible if the white is touching the player's own colour.
Does this apply to this situation regardless of the location of the reds relative to the yellow and cue ball?
Hope this makes some sense!
Cheers
 Chris

if you read your own post then the answer is there !
if it is a touching ball it wouldnt matter where the reds where, in fact if by playing away from the touching yellow you had no choice but to play into a touching red also ,then this indeed would not be a foul as if more than one touching ball applies then as long as you play away from the ball on then it is legal, therefore no it doesnt matter where the reds are ! hope i've managed to answer a very simple question in the most complicated way possible !! cheers.

(you mean OLD epa, current epa is world rules)
ah happy memories, ten minute shot selection only to roll up to a ball, two balls out the pack off the break and back into the pack, 1 hour plus frames, matches completed the following night, potting all your opponents balls then f*****g up on your finish and losing(thats just me), Ady Daws going in off on purpose to tempt people to take their balls off and give him the advantage,
multiple re racks, happy days.............

B -

See me

Some people work to make a difference. Some people would rather just whine (plus they usually are the ones with a small penis). Think before you post - Which one are you?

Bring back the old rules
I know that the rules today are more attacking and suit my style of play, but I am a traditionalist at heart

question ? if balls go off the table they are put back on? so if a red and yellow goes off how do you decide which goes closest to the spot red or yellow if so you could be foul snookerd.?this happened in my shed and was dumpstruck (not like me) so i put both balls down the pockets and said 2 shots?

Red first, that is why they should always be set up with reds leading before the break.

Had one on Tuesday.

I broke and potted a red. The white then ended up touching a cushion, a red, and a yellow all at the same time.

General consensus was that I was always going to give a foul regardless of what I did.
It seems to me that as I nominated reds, I could then play away from that (whilst hitting the touching yellow) and as long as I hit a cushion then it shouldn't have been a foul?

Others said it should have been a  re-rack.

In the end a foul was given, but as I won it didn't matter.

Taking every game for granted (apparently).

not sure of the rule myself trev, but re-racks are not allowed in WR as you are able to DF. I would have just stroked it with one of the hairs on my tip, and let the other poor b*****d deal with it
