Hi all,
As you may have noticed I don't post very often now, but I feel we have to put the records straight for Shrek (Richard Fewkes), Notts Youth Team Manager.

At the beginning of the season, Notts Youth team were in dire straits.  No players, no captains, no Team Manager.  After openly advertising the vacant Team Managers job, along came Richard and Lee Thorpe and with the full backing of the NCPA Committee they were appointed to the post.

Lets go to the end of the season.  A team of 15/16 players, Team Captain, trophies and team morale.  The current crop of Youth Team Players may not be the best, but they have tried, they have done their best and they have travelled to different parts of the Region and this is basically down to one man - Richard Fewkes.  We thank Lee Thorpe for his commitment in helping Richard early on but Richard has been the mainstay of the Team.

Now I don't care who this R8 is, if its a voice from the past or somebody new, but Richard has the full backing of not only myself, the full NCPA Committee, the NCPA Team Management and all of the Youth Team.  He has done a fabulous job and credit where credit is due.

At the recent NCPA AGM nobody was forthcoming apart from Richard for Youth Team Managers job for 2009.  If someone has a grievance they are entitled to their opinion, but there is a protocol to follow and until their is just cause to replace Richard then he is the Team Manager for the Youth.

Geoff Wilson
NCPA Chairman

Well said Geoff, the youth team job must be the hardest job in pool right now. i wouldn't want to do it, in fact nobody wanted it except Richard. Leave this guy alone. Whoever R8 is he obviously don't attend county matches or NCPA meetings, or else they would see the full on commitment of Richard. Keep up your hard work & commitment Richard - these kids are Notts future stars.

Well said Geoff, i 100% agree that Richard is the best person for the role as manager. We owe him alot for the help and coatching we have received through 2008, i'm glad to hear that Richard is going to be doing the same for 2009. County youths wouldnt have it any other way!

We are the future of Notts and its thanks to Richard! smile/thumb.gif
