Tavern beat us and Phoenix were 6-2 up against Sheriffs.

Good day today, it was better that it was played on 2 tables.
some shock results including Vale beating Rams (had to get that in )
and Tavern losing to Royal Oak

It would have been nice to get some praise for beating Steves Tavern team, 9-3 with 2 flukey wins, i can only remember 2 players saying well done and gracious in defeat. Our lads played out of their skin in the first 2 matches but it was all marred with ridiculous allegations from certain quarters.
Some players believe teams like us should not be playing on the same tables, well whats the point in having a cup competition, you might as well put the top 2 in the final.
Apart from the rant it was a good standard of pool all day, plenty of banter and dummy chucking (not down to NK this year - good lad)There was a lot of squarking from some mansfield lad - i went home with earache lol

Well said Al, i've mentioned many times before that some of these top players can't lose with any class.
Shame really.
In all fairness the Rams lads were the exact opposite to that and all of them shook our hands afterwards and said well played when we beat them.
All in all a good day, shame we ended up with the Tavern in the plate semi, i wanted you oak boys (so we could get an easy passage to the final)

Wanting an easy route to the final. Not giving teams the respect they deserve, like us poor old Royal oak boys... We only had 6 players. One of them we had to slag off big time and told him he was crap just before he played to get the best out of him.....
